JD will not be as batshit.

Considering his connections to Peter Thiel I’m not so sure about that. But what matters is that he won’t be able to wield the cult of personality that has formed around Trump the way Trump can.

          Exactly.

JD is scary due to the thiel connection.

He’s very unlikable though imo. He doesn’t have the charisma trump has (not genuine charisma, but like an arrogant bullying charisma that MAGA is attracted to). Hopefully this alone would work against him.

Some people, mostly jokingly, think that the timeline where Jeb Bush got elected president is the best timeline. JD Vance’s would be the worst.

To be fair, though, Trump is deeply unlikable for many people. I’ve had almost a physical reaction to hearing him speak or seeing him since his debates against Hillary. He’s always seemed gross and slimy to me.

In other words, just because you and I see JD as unlikable doesn’t mean that MAGA will also find him unlikable. In fact, Vance’s approval rating among republicans is 89% favorable while among democrats it is 3% favorable as of the beginning of August.

This, this, this! Trump attracts people in a unique way, the same way that Hitler attracted people. Vance doesn’t have that charisma. His ascension would fracture the party. There’s folks who are willing to buck him, not Trump. It is the best shot we have at normalcy.

I hope you are right, but I don’t know MAGA won’t latch onto a new cult of personality just as easily. The right wing info bubble is a well oiled consent machine and they know how to push the right cultural buttons. Vance is better spoken and has gained a lot of MAGA love under Trump. I worry if Trump dies before he erodes his support too far, it will solidify MAGA under a better equipped leader.

        What?

JD and his wife were groomed to be the Republican version of the Clinton’s…

They were literally set up by the “Tiger Mom” who’s an ivy league law professor, then the wife was given SC clerkships.

They are 1000x more dangerous than trump, in no small part because they won’t be as blatant.

JD is Peter Thiel’s errand boy and Thiel wants to collapse of nation states and social programs. His goal is corporate network states with the rich living completely removed from regulations on their power in any way. JD Vance may not be as erratic but he is just as dangerous.

Eh. Trump isn’t a christian by their definition now. He could find Krishna on his deathbed and they’ll still make pilgrimages to his grave, expecting him to rise up as their saviour.

They don’t care about his beliefs or actions. All that matters is their own fear, anger, and hate. That’s all this has really been about. Not ideals, not standards, and certainly not reality.

Yes he is. He doesn’t go to church. He doesn’t know what’s in the bible. He’s self-centred, greedy, and hateful to those who are different. He’s exactly like the Christians that worship him.

Right, most of them are like that.

He’s objectively a christian, but not by their idealised definition. They can’t see they’re also all of those things, because they’ve perverted the meanings of right and wrong, ‘good’ and ‘evil’, and what morality is.

“The president is in incredibly good health,” Vance insisted to USA Today. “He’s got incredible energy.”

And these assholes wanted to “investigate” the Democrats for saying this kind of thing about Biden? At least I’ve seen Biden ride a bike. Having a golf cart shuttle you around on a course ain’t anything.

I’d love to see mr. “incredible energy” try to ride a bike right now, LOL.

I try not to be judgemental about such things. Everyone has different circumstances in life that might have prevented them from learning those skills. My fiancee, now in her 30’s, has never owned a bicycle and was never taught. She had a poor upbringing and so the funds were never there for her to be able to learn.

But man, I sure do wonder about the people whose parents did have the financial means for bike riding and swim lessons. Either the parents didn’t show any interest in teaching their kid how to do it, or the kid was not interested in leaning. Either way, it’s not really a good reflection on either the parents or the kid.

Bro I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE to see if Trump has been seen today. Best I came up with was a zoomed in picture of his face at the golf course. It has so many pixels it barely resembles him and his face is swollen as hell and his nose doesn’t even look normal.

I’ve said from the beginning that one way or another he’d be out right after the midterms (so Vance could have 2 full terms after taking over this one), but maybe il Douche isn’t gonna be able to make it that long. The main thing Vance et. al. have to make sure of is that everything happens in a way that the base will accept as legit and won’t interpret as a coup or conspiracy against Daddy.
