Technically Korea was a stalemate at worst. The North Koreans initiated the invasion and the goal was to push them back a bit then end the war. MacArthur fucked that up and pushed too far spooking the Chinese but the pre-war borders were more or less reestablished, so not victory but sure as shit wasn’t defeat given how bad the war was going for awhile.

It’s because everyone fucking hates ICE, the problem Republicans have is that their wins are tainted since they only appeal to their base if even that. Everyone else who isn’t batshit even more conservative folks see how much of a mess they are and shy away from it. I suspect this is why they are starting to show only MAGA polling now because if they polled any wider grouping that wasn’t self identified they’d show far far worse numbers.
A yes a prime example of the failures of the legal situation, seriously would it kill them to send a patrol car to the area in case something happened at a minimum. Also yeah these bounty guys are probably on the good side of the bounty hunting profession mostly cause they usually are just there to keep the court system moving, unlike their cowboy wannabe kin who just seem to cause problems.

For a minute I got confused by the term WPA since where I am all that shit gets blanketed under the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps). But yeah bringing that shit back on the state level at least could do a lot of good, doesn’t even need to be all that hard of work, for example having a bunch of guys walk through a river during the dry season (I’m from SoCal the rivers are dry as bone during the summer) picking up trash and marking shit for maintenance. Not hard work but slow work that requires a good bit of manpower.
If you want them to do something fun IDk get volunteers and launch an extermination campaign on the local boar population or something.
Specifically zoning laws. Personally I’m fine with keeping heavy industry away from residential but light industry, commercial, and residential should be more mixed. Same thing with certain forms of agriculture, we need to blanket legalise chickens in residential areas.
