I’ve said this in the past but I really do think that if a civil war, balkanization, or federal weakening were to happen it’ll start here in California. Not necessarily because we are all that willing to do things but moreso because we are probably one of the more nationalistic states and Republicans would see us all butchered, all it’d take is the right pressure and the Californian nationalism will turn into burning federal field offices and mass graves.
The main challenge is that California is full to the brim with federal military bases.
That could be a problem for them as well, its not inconceivable that said bases could end up being surrounded and isolated or otherwise dealing with defection. Regardless it’d be a complete shit show, but I suspect theyd face some level of issue from mixed loyalty, breakdown of morale, or people going AWOL outright.
