Michigan Democratic Party chair Curtis Hertel made it crystal clear on Sunday that Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) was no longer welcome in the state’s Democratic party.
Hertel posted to X after Stevens yanked her support from Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D) and gave it to his Republican challenger, “Congresswoman Stevens is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future.”
Wasn’t this the same woman who was called out for concern trolling the other day on Some More News Podcast?
Yeah, she seemed slippery as fuck. This behavior isn’t surprising.
She didn’t abandon her values tho
Sounds like you’re telling people not to vote! /s
Can’t turn your back on nothing! Checkmate libs.
Bitch bye. Disavowed quicker than Hasan Piker.
Wait, what happened with Hasan Piker?
You don’t disavow him?!
What? I’m just asking what happened. I haven’t said anything about what I think about him. But if somebody disavowed him quickly, but not too quickly, it makes it seem like he did something to change somebody’s mind.
What makes this all especially delicious is that there was SUPPOSED to be an event today for “Party Unity” with Representative Jim Clyburn (D-SC).
El-Sayed said Stevens shouldn’t be there because she would be “a distraction.”
One of Clyburn’s people issued a statement saying: “Abdul can’t uninvite her because it’s not his event”.
Then she went full on nuts, getting kicked out of the party. She uninvited herself. LOL.
Do Clyburn next. Dude is a disgrace atp.
Clyburn himself I’m OK with, the way the Democratic party uses him is not cool.
I think he has degraded in his standing badly in recent years, cashing in and blocking progress.
You may not know this, but My Northwest is a right wing right rag that sometimes has real news and headlines.
In this case, it was the best source for the quote about how she’s no longer invited to the Unity event. I went through 8 or 10 of them before settling on this one.
Sometimes it be like that
I thought that was the case, that’s why I wanted to let you know.
I find it incredible that so many of these life-long politicians have such terrible political instincts.
Mike Rodgers has made it clear he’s against Trans rights, he’s against equal pay for women, he’s against minimum wage increases, and he’s very proud of his ‘‘100% anti abortion voting record’’ in the past he’s said he would respect Michigan’s right to abortion laws, but shifted further right this cycle saying he’ll support federal bans on abortion. So in a fight between “won’t disavow a commercial that says the US funding Isreal and joining Israel in attacking Iran has led to high gas prices” or “will do everything in his power to harm women’s equality and human rights” she prefers harming women.
Honestly, I’m not sure if she’s trying to grift to the right (and is really bad at it) or is having an honest mental breakdown. Maybe the mental breakdown is the reason for the sloppy grift.
Maybe Israel finally escaped her dreams.
It escaped her subconscious and took full control.
That or the check cleared
her career has been heavily funded by the pro Israel lobby for a long time, her husband endorsed the republican way earlier than the commercial controversy, she’s not that old and likely wants to cash in on her political career, and the most likely job after legislature is a lobbyist, and she’s mostly interacted with pro Isreal lobbyist, so… that’s probably where she’d like to work. This is a grand romantic gesture.
The thing is, that’s not her husband, it’s her fiancé, and they only started dating back in spring of this year. She might actually be a honeypot victim.
as sexy as that sounds, I think it’s just money and self interest.
I think both.
She had values expect the value of supporting a genocidal state?
Haley made a nice chunk of change today.
Boom.
