I think it’s less one sided than you assume. My relatives work in government and the majority of people they saw jumping at that DOGE letter were conservative types who truly thought they would be able to pick up another job and get paid on the side for the 6 months or whatever it was.

The thing is they don’t need to push people out, to get their people in, it will happen naturally. The average government employee is 47, in a lot of offices and agencies that avg is much higher. These people will just naturally retire, a lot are even eligible. So any excuse gets these feet out the door, they only weren’t retired previously because they don’t know what to do with their time.

Once you get your people in, it’s semi trivial to get them promoted to the positions you want. So they don’t care, it’s all going to plan either way. Even if 90% of people leaving are Republican, you don’t know that they will actually kiss the ring… However the people you hire? You absolutely know they will, it was part of the hiring process afterall.

Only if they don’t cave in the first week. They need to clearly articulate the demands to American people and draw a line in the sand.

You go somewhere with a poorly run middle school and all you hear on the way to school in your dad’s truck is Rush in the morning. You get to school and all you hear are bad stories from your friends, parents are fighting, Tom Jr’s dad lost his job because the factory said immigrants took them, that liberal bean counter they employ must have made the decision your classmates echo.

You struggle through classes because not only do your parents not support your education, they are ignorant of any parental teaching responsibilities they have themselves, but even more, they are skeptical of the “liberal education system” itself and give no praise for excellence, in fact they deride people who succed academically. You wonder why you’re in school at all

Your best relief is gym class, but you get made fun of in the locker room because your clothes are a little tatty. Then the gym teacher who is a big right winger starts up the baseball game and makes fun of the liberal pansises he put in the outfield, not doing much but picking flowers… as is the nature of the game and position at that level. You laugh, a hearty laugh really. It’s been a while since you could laugh at anything, even if it’s someone. Besides, a few of those kids made comments about your clothes earlier.

Then when you’re home, from the moment you step into your house it’s the same 8 familiar faces on TV telling you who wronged you and why. Sure the enemies aren’t close… or are they? But you get a little relief with each passing word that it’s not really your fault, it’s their fault. An explosive new segment comes down the ticker reel on the TV and your dad shouts "See. They said they are downsizing! I fucking new Tom got screwed by those liberals.

You go to bed praying to the god your parents taught you of. The god who will listen to you and not them and you hope that tomorrow things will be better and they will no longer stand in the way.

I feel like if you make a call to violence like that then anyone should be able to legally challenge you to a duel to the death within the next week.

Because no regular person understands the business model, so it would be hard to make a pressure campaign if people don’t understand why.
