GOP lawmakers returning from their Doral retreat are voicing deep frustration about the party’s lack of accomplishments and are divided over how to spend their remaining time in power.
House Republican leaders are publicly projecting confidence about their chances of holding the majority in the midterms. Privately, many of their members sound far less certain.
Gathered this week at a Trump-owned resort in Doral, Florida, to coordinate strategy for the rest of the legislative year and the looming campaign season, Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., struck an upbeat tone, telling reporters, “Do not bet against the House Republicans” as they try to maintain their narrow edge in the chamber.
But beneath the public optimism, there is deep frustration — and, in some cases, outright pessimism — simmering inside Johnson’s conference.
“No one thinks we’re keeping the majority except for the speaker,” one House Republican, who requested anonymity to discuss the internal sentiment, told MS NOW.
Once again, this feels a lot similar to the runup to the 2024 election. Dozens of articles all saying “Republicans are nervous! Democrats are practically guaranteed victory! Lots of people are saying this!” Right before getting utterly defeated.
Do not rely on hopium, treat this election like an uphill battle because it absolutely fucking is.
They are going to fuck with the elections. Hard. Dems don’t need to pull off a victory, they need to pull off a victory so overwhelming that they win even with Republican hands on the scale. That’s IF we even get an election in the first place.

20202016 expecting to wake up to news that the U.S. would soon have its first female president, right?I knew Trump had won the day before the election. Of course I didn’t know for sure, but there were so many signs of everything being measured to favor the Democrats.
But despite I was sure Trump would win, I was still shocked that the American people were that stupid.
I wasn’t so surprised the second time, more disappointed. And now everything is falling apart, both in USA an internationally.
But I think the rest of the world will be OK, we will just have to figure out how to work with China instead of USA.The DNC has been draining the “victory fund” that was stolen from the state parties and were a year deep into the largest reinvesture from DNC to state parties everywhere…

You can’t change change an electorate, at least not in the course of one election cycle. You want to change an electorate? Start speaking the truth and keep giving the same speech as nauseum just like uncle Bernie did. But in the course of a single election, run candidate that meet the electorate where they are at.

Yes those documents were leaked by Russians. But they still existed. (Mostly, at least.)
The entire primary set up also is pretty biased. We don’t know how Bernie would have done outside a couple states because most states never got a primary vote.
Further, Hilary was soft amid the same people that were passionate for Bernie.
