  • Well spoken IMO.
After winning WW2 America was a proud nation for more than half a century, and they had many things to point to that were good reasons to be proud. Obviously this got a boost again after the moon landings, which was not only a massive achievement, but back then NASA attributed it to the whole world, including the first words Armstrong spoke when he set foot on the moon.
Americans were the heroes of the free world, and we all admired their success.
It’s absolutely insane how this former pioneer nation has regressed to be scorned for their selfishness and disrespect for democracy and human rights. To a degree where even allies have to protect themselves against USA! This already was pretty bad with George Bush and the false intelligence used to invade Iraq, and the use of torture by Americans which was previously totally unheard of, and the use of Guantanamo Base for the GITMO prison, completely disregarding rights as either prisoners of war or civilian and human rights. This was in 2002, and USA still hasn’t managed or even attempted to repair that damage for 24 years now.

It must be at least as surreal for the Americans that never wanted this, as it is for the rest of the world.
Putin is probably ecstatic, because this is what he wanted, and probably a result of his political influence in USA.
And Xi is probably pleased that USA is looking to become a more “manageable” problem in the future, as USA is losing the power of having many allies working towards similar goals.

USA will never be the same again, and the world will never be the same again, and the winner is China. For Putin it is probably a Pyrrhic victory, as all his efforts will only result in the decline of Russia and possible the destroction of the Russian federation, which is the exact opposite of what Putin wanted.

The problems with USA now are far from just Trump, they are a result of many years of mismanagement, declining moral and disregard for human rights and international law and a failing democracy, and is rooted in the American people.

  • It doesn’t matter how many other countries you have on board if the Federal government of USA won’t allow it.
Secession can’t happen is the default. To change that a lot of ifs are required, both a lot and some very big ones.
No country is more powerful than USA, and even if there were such countries, they have no right to interfere in internal affairs of USA.
USA is extremely undemocratic and authoritative compared to EU, where the states have way better protections and are allowed to leave the union.
If Americans think the “world” can help them think again. Because they neither can or will.

  • I don’t get it? Why are these protests not anti government? Do they consider everything else that is going on OK?
Cutting healthcare, the obvious corruption, and destroying the American economy in multiple ways, and making Americans poorer by devaluing the US Dollar.
But apparently Americans are OK with losing their democracy, and people working 2 jobs living in poverty without healthcare!

Protesting ICE is of course a place to start, but despite the protests ICE is still active in Minnesota!

  • I hope this is a turning point, but I don’t believe it until I see it.
Trump has mobilized federal forces en masse now, ICE, FBI the National guard and even including the military to be ready to intervene against the population if necessary.
Trump is a sociopath, in an administration completely filled with sociopaths. They won’t hesitate to kill people if it suit their purpose.
It’s already evident that they don’t give a shit about those innocent people already killed. They resort to victim blaming completely against the evidence and without shame.

How exactly do people imagine things will turn now? Unless of course there are plans to occupy the White house, but I’m not sure even that will help, Trump will just be flown away in a helicopter to a military installation outside the reach of ordinary people.
If the administration is moved to another location, the White House is just another building.

On the more positive side (/s), all this turbulence has allowed Trump to withhold the Epstein Files without much uproar over that.

The real risk remains that when people protest, Trump will declare martial law, and while the checks and balances are scrambling to figure out what to do, Trump will take complete control. Because the system was not designed to reign in a malignant narcissist for president and an administration that backs him up completely. It was designed to make the president strong and effective, giving the President way to much power, and no real power to the ones outside the administration that are supposed to reign him in.

This is not a turning point, it’s an escalation, and Trump already has plans for that.
But lets hope Trumps plans fail, because he isn’t very bright, he is merely completely ruthless and without any conscience.

  • Wake-up call for who?
The people who already knew and voted against Trump? Or the people who voted for him, and also knew he is a fascist sociopath? Or the people who don’t care?

There is no way this should be a wake-up call for anybody. This was to be expected. We knew already before his inauguration that he would destroy democracy and put USA at the very least to the brink of civil war doing it.

How is this in any way surprising?
Even the infamously slow moving EU reacted in less than a month to Trump, and began to work on independence from USA.
The world has clearly reacted, but has neither right or power to remove Trump.
The ones that have power to remove Trump are the Americans, and for some reason they don’t.

  • Yes I am, Stupid as fuck is the correct technical term, but more than that, they are also delusional and most of them are without empathy towards the people they knew would be hurt.
To vote for Trump is so bad, it has to be described as close to mental illness to vote for him, because it’s an act of self harm for most people that did it.
But I have no compassion for those people despite their mental illness, they were warned over and over and again and again. That a 2nd term with Trump would be far worse than the first.
