physical or emotional protection
Terminator 2 is probably the easiest answer.
Mary Poppins Alien (if you count the cat) 28 Days Later Run Lola Run (sorta)
Alien (if you count the cat)
I count Ripley following protocol and refusing to open the airlock for a contaminated crewmate. If Ash hadn’t stepped in, the movie would have ended very differently.
I meant that Jonesy is the weak male that Ripley physically and emotionally protects.
Also she defended Burke when the Marines were going to kill him for what he did. I mean she wanted him punished but… Letter of the law here. He was weak, she defended him.
That’s in the sequel tho innit?
Yeah, but that’s ok isn’t it?
Yeah I just thought you lot were talking about Alien 🤷♂️
I don’t remember much of that movie, but an Aliens / Evil Dead crossover sounds like a lot of fun.
The first Underworld from 2003 is like this, but it’s painfully early 2000s. It’s from that era when every action movie was ripping of The Matrix as hard as possible.
Kate Beckinsale younger and in leather. Nice.
In the universe I’m originally from she’s clad in shiny vinyl (yes, please) and her name was Beckinsdale.
First matrix. Trinity is much more skilled than Neo until the final act.
Similarly - Edge of Tomorrow Emily Blunt is skilled and trains Tom Cruise until he’s competent enough to save the world. By the end they’re both extremely competent. Only reason Tom Cruise saves the world and not her is due to the timeloops. She’d already done it once.
Then the same but in reverse in Matrix 4 but no one should watch that shitshow
Hunger games
A sadly underappreciated show:
Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
Not movie, but Powerpuf Girls, Kim Possible, and Totally Spies
Aliens. After Gorman’s breakdown, all the marines start taking orders from Ripley.
Not a movie but Star Trek Voyager might be something you’ll enjoy?
Maybe if you skip Tuvix
True.
Also Threshold.
Alita: Battle Angel i think was like this a bit, but it is maybe not straightforward enough
maybe the no game no life movie , but i dont think that is really what you are looking for
Lego Movie
- Star wars force awakens.
- Tangled
- Mulan
- Transformers
- Avatar (Blue people)
Could probably come up with more.
3000 Years of Longing maybe? Tilda is very caring and acknowledging of her Djinn’s needs.
Watched the first half of an utterly terrible movie called flight risk. It fits the bill, but it was so bad. The weak adult make is also meant to be comic relief but it is incredibly not funny
There is a very nice Chinese drama called She and her perfect husband https://mydramalist.com/64781-the-80-20-rule-of-love
