Donald Trump accidentally posted an incendiary private message to Attorney General Pam Bondi on his public Truth Social account… According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump believed he was sending Bondi a private message, insisting she prosecute his nemesis and former FBI director, James Comey, along with other targets.
RawStory adds: “the President of the United States communicating with his cabinet via Truth Social direct message is both insane and a violation of the Presidential Records Act,” former Obama administration staffer Dan Pfeiffer posted on X.

a violation of the Presidential Records Act
Fucking DO SOMETHING THEN!
Until Trump faces some consequences for doing illegal shit it doesn’t matter what the law says. Trump is above the law and that needs to change.
My dude, who is supposed to do anything and what do you suggest that person(s) do?
Large, peaceful protest is our best option right now.
Edit: Another great option for people in Portland and Chicago with a lot of time, start doing live cams of the areas that are supposed to be insurrections. People tend to believe the first thing they hear and see, let’s show everyone how crazy these towns are.
Here is a start:
- This livecam outside ICE in Portland is surprisingly owned by The Sinclair Group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_ucxfn-HY0
- Is Portland Burning? website: https://isportlandburning.com/
- Here is Chicago Wrigley Field: https://chicago-webcams.com/wrigley-field-webcam/
- Here is Chicago along the river: https://api.wetmet.net/widgets/stream/frame.php?uid=4f3e81c8ba5bf5a0ff1768c88aba1f8c
General strike is way more effective
We can do both?
Yeah, of course. But only one one can best.
Peaceful protests are vulnerable to being incited to violence.
And in late stage capitalism, government is only listening to capital holders. Money speaks way louder to capital holders than the inconvenience of a protest.
Large, peaceful protest is our best option right now.
Why? That does nothing. They need to fear for their well-being.
Have you tried a strongly worded post on Twitter?
Everyone can continue speaking plainly, which in this case includes pointing out that an individual in power failing to stop nazi shit is noteworthy, and always an aberration.
it’s like trying to nail diarrhea to the wall. impeachments, indictments, injunctions - nothing fucking sticks the runny shitwad to the wall.
Neoliberals been aligning with Republicans to prevent any politician from being held accountable for decades…
If Biden had held trump accountable for what he did his first term, someone might have tried to hold Biden accountable for going around congress to provide arms we knowingly would be used to commit genocide.
The DNC finally wised up, but if we want any politicians held accountable, we need start voting straight progressive not just straight D
Using truth social as a messaging platform
But her emails!
The full post doesnt really seem like it was meant to be private tbh. Just an open letter. I think the “surprise” is only because Trump has dementia (clearly) and is probably “surprised” to hear what he ate for breakfast every morning.
Stylistically, it was a clear deviation from how he typically writes public posts. It read like a private DM, not a public post. It was speculated at the time that the post was meant to be private. WSJ story got insider information that confirms that speculation.
Doesn’t seem like it to me tbh. I think it only seems like that because it isnt his usual inflammatory old-man-word-salad and is just a soft warning for Bondi to “do your job or I will turn MAGA on you.”
I’m with you, it seemed still sufficiently performative to be really intended to get his base in on the pressure to go after his personal enemies.
I think the two main tells are that he addressed it directly to the recipient, and that he “signed” it (instead of thanking society for their attention to the matter).
Isn’t this old news at this point?
This happened two years ago in Trump time.
Trump suffered another Truth Social mishap on Wednesday.
During a White House roundtable with conservative influencers, Secretary of State Marco Rubio interrupted Trump and handed him a note.
The note, spotted by AP’s Chief Photographer in Washington, Evan Vucci, reads, “We need you to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first.”
After receiving his instructions from Rubio, Trump told the assembled media, “OK, I was just given a note by the secretary of state saying, ‘we’re very close to a deal in the Middle East’ and they’re gonna need me pretty quickly.”
Trump also had son-in-law Jared Kushner and U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff review the Truth Social post before he made it public, according to a White House official, as reported by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.
We are a clown show, and not a good one.
…are you serious? This was like 2 weeks ago.
