He doesn’t know what he is talking about most of the time and this time he didn’t realize the camera’s were on, or his honest feelings came out.

New yorkers have always known trump is a POS and will change his opinion to whatever gets him money and power. We all know he used to be a democrat, but changed to republican because the democrats hated him and knew he is a POS.

The NRA and gun rights groups have condemned Trump’s rhetoric.

Seems like it’s just the UltraMAGA typical bootlickers that are rolling over for Trump.

This is definitely a feeler. As soon as the blowback hits he’ll change topic and prevent like he never said it. Of course MAGA will forget it too

Weirdly, I don’t think it’s just a feeler. I think this is something Trump actually believes. I mean, the man is in New York billionaire, he’s not from American gun culture. Pretty frequently when there’s a shooting or gun-related tragedy he talks about taking guns away from people.

You’re right that TACO is probably going to TACO and not do anything about it.

On the other hand, this administration has been very clear that First Amendment rights don’t apply to their political enemies, and there’s no reason they’d feel differently about the Second.

I can easily see gun rights going the way of small government ideology in general - a useful tool when liberals were in power, but counterproductive now that conservatives are running things. There’s no right to bear arms against a conservative government, only against a liberal one.

Hahaha children are shot in the face. Who cares. A white man packing a concealed weapon is murdered by ICE. Oh noes we must have gun control!

Get the fuck out of here.

Edit: I’m laughing incredulously because the situation is so fucked.

I think this is more intended to remove the citizen population’s ability to retaliate against a tyrannical government. You know the thing the second amendment was intended for, according to some folks.

I bet Ed cameras in the you build in Texas Why that so-called law-enforcement was standing around while all those kids were getting murdered I’m sure they have video of it, but I also remember them editing out the audio of the video because of the screaming in the background why the agents were Standing around on their cells

If you don’t understand the different reaction between something reported to have happened and something documented with multiple videos you don’t understand humans much.

I’ve always said all legislators should be required to walk through the aftermath of an event like sandy Hook or Uvalde before they are allowed to vote on gun legislation. And while I understand why parents would never want video of that made available to the public, I also think it would make a huge difference in public opinion if it was–that’s why I say at least the lawmakers should have to see it (and sight isn’t the only sense of it they’d never forget).

I have no doubt of any of that. They wont make it public and all the reasons they use will never be their reason. They don’t want us to see how they failed. That a exonerated coward stood by while it was happening and broke his oath doing so. That none of of the law enforcement on site had the courage to go in and end it. If that video would have been made public though it would have not changed the politicians that much. Far too many of them lack the ability to feel the pain of others. Its how they got to where they are.

They are clearly trying to ensure that they will never be subject to a legitimate election again. Minnesota is a test for how many constitutional amendments they can break. Presidential term limits are absolutely the target. When the oligarchs no longer need their cult they will repeal the entire Constitution. Welcome to the New Confederacy.

Trump is nearing his life’s term limit. A 3rd term from him personally is not particularly concerning. That’s still a red line in the sand that we should never allow anyone to cross but I’ll be surprised if he makes it through his current term in good enough condition to even pretend to be in charge.

Trump is just a symptom. The christofascists in his ear are the sickness. Trump is there just to bulldoze through the Constitution and establish a one party system.

Trump is the face. The oligarchs are the movement. What we are dealing with is a long festering tumor that has metastasized. Trump is the irregular shaped mole on the surface. The cancer has been there since the civil war.

Maybe not, but what I see is more ideologically in line with the Confederates than with the Nazis. That was the secret sauce the whole time. They want the entire US government to be reset to the antebellum era and to pick up as though Lincoln never existed.

California’s strict gun control started with Reagan because he wanted to disarm the Black Panthers. Republicans are pro 2A, as long as it is reserved for white conservative/fascist people.

EDIT: Governor Reagan. So, before he became president, but 100 fold once he got shot.
