We elected a black man after years of people saying America was too racist to ever do that. There are a lot more women in America than there are black people, and it turns out that running as a progressive is pretty popular.

We don’t need to play this stupid guessing game about what genitals or skin colors will win elections. We already know the policy positions that win elections we just categorically refuse to run on them.

Tbf, market indicators don’t mean shit to people with stagnant wages who have seen 20% inflation over 5 years. How is that weird? Getting rid of these justices ends exactly how I described. Unless you get rid of Trump first then removing SC justices will just put you in an even worse spot.

Say what you want about Kavanaugh but I’d be willing to bet he’d look like a Boy Scout compared to whoever Trump would nominate today.

It’s hard to tell from this one report but it doesn’t seem like this was a particularly bad outcome. Of course it’s unfortunate that a bystander was killed but it sounds like they successfully prevented an even worse outcome. Besides, there are tons of stories of cops injuring or killing more than one bystander in situations like this. When it comes down to it I’m more inclined to trust the judgment of a commited private citizen than the police.

You’d rather the protesters rely on the police to do this kind of thing? The group shooting them with rubber bullets and tear gas canisters?

So in your prediction of the future Trump arrests the governor of California and then just fucks off while that governor’s replacement does what they like? I’m not following the logic.

I think you’re wrong about that. As someone who left I can say with some amount of certainty that most of the smart ones do leave and that’s part of why it remains shitty.

To be clear I’m referring to smart people I know who grew up there. The vast majority don’t live there anymore. This isn’t just a roundabout way of calling myself smart.

They said they were going to run government like a business. Businesses do this shit all the time.

Everything this man is allowed to do sets a dangerous precedent. Good thing we didn’t appear too political by prosecuting him when we had the chance. That would have been awful.
