That being said, we already know that being in agreement with reality is not a requirement for Republicans to believe something. Facts don’t matter to them so don’t bother making factual appeals to them. Their goal is control and they will use any and all means at their disposal to achieve it, regardless of truth. The 2A was quite literally written to be a failsafe against a federal government like we have now. Of course it comes with additional societal drawbacks that we’ve essentially focused exclusively on for decades, for mostly good reasons. However, you can be assured that they’ll think twice about oppressing minority groups if those people are armed and demonstrate a willingness to defend themselves. It’s not a magic bullet (lol) but at the end of the day I’d rather go out fighting the fascists than hoping to hide from them while they escalate their violence against my fellow citizens.

At this point what are we waiting for? We know Trump is in those files. We know he rapes women of all ages. We know the entire Republican party has decided to try and cover that up while preaching about family values and other things incompatible with protecting pedophiles.

It seems like we’re waiting for permission to do something but they’re clearly never going to admit wrong doing and we already have all the knowledge needed to make a decision anyway so I can’t figure out why we’re all expecting this to happen or what we think will change if it does. We should just do today whatever we think we would do the day after they admit Trump is a pedophile because that’s clearly never going to happen.
