And so it begins.

This seems like a good way to get the judge to find in favor of the defense motion to dismiss.

Sanction whatever lawyer signed their name to that motion. Trump may be immune to law, but an attorney still has to be bar certified in order to practice.

This why team Trump tried to capture the DC bar by running Pam Bondi’s brother, a disbarred attorney cannot practice law in DC. Trump can’t pardon a DC Bar decision.

I remember way back when that bribery and misuse of election funds case was brought up against Trump that I told my wife and I quote “if this ends up as more than a slap on the wrist I’ll be surprised”. I was very unsurprised.

This is on brand for that whole right wing swamp.

In this case, the order for the DoJ was about discovery relating to a motion to dismiss based on vindictive prosecution. If they fail to comply with the discovery process, the judge can simply grant the motion to dismiss.

I mean, it’s the DOJ that’s trying to win a ruling against former AG James. If they’re blatantly violating judicial orders, the idea that they’re going to get a favorable ruling is laughable.

But the strategy of the current administration is to always double down. I suspect we’ll see the House try to have the judge impeached. Or maybe ICE will just start ramming into defense attorneys’ cars in the parking lot. That’s all these thugs know how to do when they can’t get their way.
