The thing about authoritarians is they never, ever wake up. They will justify, compartmentalize, excuse, hand wave, and intellectually retreat to protect their forgone conclusions. There is no reason behind their beliefs or behaviors, no knowledge or logic that led them to being authoritarian, and nothing will lead them out. Their identities, personalities, and egos are built wholely upon those foregone conclusions and to change their minds about those things is to essentially kill themselves and destroy their very reality, which is unthinkable. It is a mental illness that cannot be cured. It can be dampened slightly through first-hand exposure to diversity, but never completely cured. It is a significant, serious, and dangerous mental illness that has been allowed to propagate.

Compartmentalizing and blindly following aggressive authority figures are the key traits of authoritarians (RWA). These are not desirable traits and RWA should be recognized as the dangerous mental illness it is.

Every day the Criminal in Chief commits impeachable crimes. Every. Day.

This is just the latest. But Congress is currently packed with illegitimate, undemocratically placed criminal cronies who face no accountability while shielding their criminal collaborators from accountability. So here we are.

Use violence against the out group. If the out group protests peaceful, falsely claim it’s violence to increase your own violence. If the out group fights back, use it as an excuse to bring all the violence you have to bear while painting your attack as an act of “defense”.

Everything they say, do, teach, and proselytize is overtly “anti-christ”.

You know the David Frum quote?

That doesn’t just apply to democracy. It applies to religion, too. They were never believers in scripture or Jesus socialist-humanist teachings. They are blind adherents of authoritarianism, and that is ultimately all that matters. Everything else is a smoke screen.

When you corner an authoritarian with “their own” scripture (which is very easy because very few actually know any of it, besides a few choice out-of-context snippets fed to them by their leaders), they will casually dismiss the entire conversation and walk away. Maybe they will say something like “even the devil can quote scripture”, without ever bothering to engage with the topic itself.
