In an interview hosted by Politico, the California governor said the US must ‘wake up’ to the the threat posed by the president’s disregard of democratic norms

Donald Trump is gravely serious about running for a third term in violation of the US constitution, California governor Gavin Newsom said on Wednesday, warning Americans to “wake up” to what he described as the president’s flagrant disregard for democratic norms.

“I don’t think Donald Trump wants another election,” Newsom, a Democrat, said during a live interview at a summit hosted by Politico in Sacramento. “This guy doesn’t believe in free, fair elections.”

Newsom, who has gained national attention in recent weeks for his merciless trolling of Trump online and who is widely considered a presidential contender, said he had a stack of two dozen “Trump 2028” hats sent to him by the president’s supporters.

    Let’s be honest. He’ll just declare a “national emergency” and suspend elections, no third term necessary. He’s trying it out in DC and LA now. It’s all in the dictator playbook.

            I’ve prepared my whole life for this

            Wow, so glad we’re just now finally getting to that line where your years of studying the blade finally are called upon.

            While you’re out naruto-running through the park pretending to fight ninjas, I’ll be continuing to organize my neighborhood the best I can to get involved in our next election cycle and know who’s running for what positions so we can hopefully kick the legs out from under the establishment. If they can do it in fucking New York they can do it in every town in the US.

    Trump has been looking pretty shit lately, more than he usually does. And has been talking about getting into heaven. I don’t think he gets to 2028. Though I guess they could try some Weekend at Bernie’s shit with him, wouldn’t really put it past the current people around him.
