Kent County is in the northern part of the lower peninsula. The most well known city in the area is Grand Rapids, home of the DeVos family (Amway, Former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos). In more recent history they have usually been right leaning, and the sheriff’s office had been in the news for not the greatest reasons.

That’s what I know and colors my perception. I’m honestly surprised that Harris won that county, so maybe there is a culture shift up there.

No GOP backing, so this is meaningless theater.

That was a strange video to listen to. He wants the US to own half… Like nationalizing the platform?

Sadly, it’s to avoid the political fallout.

That was what the credit reporting agencies did, not what the Biden administration just did.

The CFPB said that medical debt is a poor predictor of an individual’s ability to repay a loan. Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, the three national credit reporting agencies, said last year that they were removing medical collections debt under $500 from U.S. consumer credit reports.

So even the credit reporting agencies are recognizing that medical debt isn’t reflective of what the credit scores should be. Sounds like more evidence that there is a big problem with healthcare in this country.
