A maid. I really don’t like cleaning. I’m not very good at it. I miss a lot of things. I don’t have the attention span, etc. I do it because I have to. I don’t want to live in swallow but gosh, it would be nice to have somebody cleaning my house for me even if it’s just once a month.

10,000 acres of land in the northern mountains, with all associated rights (mineral, water, etc.).

I really, really, really don’t want to have neighbors. I already live in a rural area, and I still have neighbors 1/4 mile away that blast their music at 11pm loud enough to make out the lyrics. I want to be able to see the stars at night with no light pollution, and see wildlife that’s barely seen people.

A large property in the woods with a river running through it. I can literally setup my own mini power generation source if the stream is powerful enough. So I get to at least be partly off-grid.

A well designed back yard with a gardener to help keep it nice and tidy. I fucking love flowers and landscaping, but I just can’t do it myself.

Watches, sadly. There some beautiful pieces, and somehow the industry figured out how to ask for a house’s worth of money for some of them

I got this for $70 online. It’s from china and probably isn’t well made but I absolutely love watching the little wheel go back and forth

      it’s sooo pretty!

(I messed it up the 2nd timezone when daylight savings time happened lol)

It is indeed pretty! :) Is it mechanical?

For 70 bucks, though, i would be hesitant. I just can’t imagine finding a mechanic to fix it if need be, or what kind of shortcuts they had to make to create it.

Is that a moonphase display on the top there though?

          thank you :)

          Is it mechanical?

uhhh I know there is kinda some different definitions for the word “mechanical” so I’ll describe what it does.
It needs to be winded, but there’s a little weight on the back that spins as you move your arms. As the thing spins it winds the watch automatically
IIRC that feature is called “automatic”

For $70 I don’t expect to wear it for years and years, but I haven’t had any issues yet. When it eventually breaks I’m gonna try to fix it myself and probably fail haha

The moon thing just shows approximately how long the sun will be up, it doesn’t have the full cycle :/

but I got it for mostly looks and it definitely fulfills its purpose :)

Then it’s definitely mechanical! The main difference is if there is a spring drive in it that helps it tick away, or there is a quartz mechanism that (as it vibrates on a frequency) ticks the clock forward every second. So unless there is a battery in it that would vibrate the quartz, it is mechanical. This is the best way i can explain it.

But it’s pretty nice it didn’t fall apart in a few months. if you had it for years, i think it’s awesome! :)

A personal datacenter with 3-digit terabytes of storage, terabytes of RAM, and 3-digit CPUs. Unless I win the lottery (and the safe withdraw rate on these investments are high enough), I won’t be getting any of this.

My wife wanted an ice maker. Thought it a silly idea but indulged her nonetheless. Well, turns out I freaking love it. Well worth the investment in my opinion

Same, I even had a fridge that included one and I never bothered to hook it up, I thought it was stupid because it took up valuable freezer space. Then one day I rented an apartment that had one and found out that boy was I ever wrong, living in a tropical country these things are an absolute godsend.

one of those freeze dryers to make infinite crunchy Skittles
They’re so good but so expensive and the machine is like $3,000 😭

Also one of those ~$500 IPL permanent hair removers
