Hillary Clinton is facing a deluge of criticism after stating that young Americans’ growing support for Palestinians is influenced by “totally made-up” videos on TikTok and suggesting that American youth - including young Jews - “don’t know history and don’t understand” Israel’s war on Gaza.

Speaking on Tuesday at a summit hosted by the right-wing Israeli paper Israel Hayom in New York City, the former Democratic presidential candidate expressed her concerns that “smart, well-educated young people” in America and around the world are getting a lot of their information, including about Israel and Palestine, from social media platforms like TikTok.

The former US secretary of state described it as “serious problem for democracy”, remarking that when she attempted to have “reasonable discussions” with young people, it was challenging because “they did not know history, they had very little context, and what they were being told on social media was not just one-sided, it was pure propaganda".

It’s only hard to grasp because her and the entire politician class have been receiving donations bribes from Israel for decades.

Yes American politicians value money and shareholder value more than human lives. They prove it every single day and not just foreigners either they hate the US citizens just as much.

Better yet, just look at historical maps of the region and see how long the Zionist effort has been going on. She’s out of touch and THATS WHY SHE LOST TO TRUMP.

That’s weird because I’ve never been on that app, am older, and probably hold some similar views. So where are my views coming from? You just have to have a heart and then you can see things correctly. It’s only fair to hold standards against everyone. Israel doesn’t get a pass. Not on morality.

Not at all. She’s a node in a national network of reactionary plutocrats. What you’re hearing is the echo of dozens of NYC billionaires and their multi-millionaire subordinates all chanting the same thing.

Hillary is a megaphone one group of rich people use to talk to another

I spent two years in college studying the history of the Middle East and specifically the conflict between Israel and Palestine. I have never been on TikTok. Then where the fuck did my pro-Palestine views come from? I know the history very well and Israel has been unreasonable assholes from the beginning. Yes, Hamas and Palestine need to stop leading with violence, but when you’re fighting for your country’s literal existence it’s a bit of a moral grey area. The whole situation is a shit show and it infuriates me that Israel has so much support from the US. Without the 800lb gorilla backing them I feel like they’d have been forced to negotiate a reasonable solution long ago. Instead, here we are with a wildly disproportionate response that is 2 years long and the US has effectively cheered them on.

Hilary and her entire generation of politicians can get fucked.

Why would context even matter? A genocide is a genocide no matter the context. It can NEVER be justified.

I have had similar discussions with a right-wing conspiracy theorist (friend of my dad) that also used to justify genocide. I do think and hope that our conversation has led to some positive change in his views. He used to get super triggered when I called what is happening is Palestine a genocide but today I think he accepts it. Or at least he no longer denies it completely. I have stood my ground and kept challenging whatever he has said.

Don’t give up on the people around you! Take the discussion, challenge their views. Call out any attempt to justify genocide. You don’t need to argue with these people about facts, history or whatever. Just a call out of any attempt to justify genocide is enough. Don’t let them keep spreading their hate unchallenged. Violence and hate can never win.

While I concede it’s not only possible, but in fact, likely that many people are unaware of the 10 volume set of War and Peace size novels which recount the history of conflict in the Middle East, I find it incredibly out-of-touch that she can’t understand that the starving and murder of an entire ethnic group is considered abhorrent by a large amount of the youth.

We don’t need to know every facet to know genocide when we see it. I’m so tired of the constant Israel propaganda here in the states. You’d think they were the superpower and we were completely beholden to them in every way with the amount of kowtowing our politicians do. It’s insane.
