President loses out to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado as his dream of surpassing Barack Obama’s achievements continues to elude him
Donald Trump has lost out on the Nobel Peace Prize after the Norwegian committee responsible for awarding the honor chose Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado instead.
Asle Toje, deputy leader of the Nobel committee, had already signaled that Trump might not get it by suggesting that his aggressive campaigning for the accolade might count against him.
“These types of influence campaigns have a rather more negative effect than a positive one,” Toje said. “Because we talk about it on the committee. Some candidates push for it really hard, and we do not like it.”
He thinks he can get for doing the same nothing Obama got his before he normalized killing US civilians…
I know it was 16 years ago and people might not remember, but he literally got a peace prize for the “promise of peace” and then later we found out he was drone striking US citizens during that time

Everyone acknowledges that Obama’s Nobel Prize was a mistake – even committee members.

I couldn’t find a definitive link, but I remember that Obama was seriously considering declining the prize, or not traveling to accept it. In the end, he decided it was better diplomatically to accept it rather than snub the committee.
Yeah everyone knew it was a mistake shortly after the award. It’s amazing when supporters of a politician were willing to criticize them…oh the good ol days.
