I don’t even understand why the boomers want this shit gone — so many of them rely on Medicare and SSI entirely. They all claim that because they ‘paid into it their whole lives’ that they are due a disbursement. But like usual, boomers are concerned about theirs; none of us who have been working for almost 20 years at this point will receive the same benefit.
Honestly, I’m in the EU and I fully expect the same thing to happen here, just more gradually than in the US.

Nobody in that coalition wants to think about their shit real life pulling in social security and living in a ticky tacky detached shitbox off a stroad in a suburb; they all envision themselves as temporarily inconvenienced mega millionaires whose biggest problem would be the capital gains tax rate if only those dang immigrants, brown people, women, and purple-haired hippies would stop repressing them.
