As a Canadian, this is the first time I heard the term half-staff, while I’ve heard half-mast numerous times. So I believe it’s much more an American thing and not a North American thing.

And yet he spent a whole lot of effort blocking totally not Muslims from immigrating. Why would you not take him seriously when he said Israel should finish the job?
Just a quick nod to
my sources have all dried up
Ah, thanks. I wasn’t sure which rich person I was supposed to recognize from this.
I’m sure the bar for membership is low, about waist high, but you will have to practice your spinning kick.
Can we have some context for that picture?
After reading the description, it seems future plans involve NPCs and a story campaign. When or if that actually happens is always hard to assess.
As a person who tends to come from the technical side, this doesn’t surprise me. Without a deep understanding of the subject, how would you come up with an accurate formula or algorithm to meet your needs? And with lighting in a physical space, that would be an arts major, not a math or computing major.
Most of my best work (which I’ll grant is limited) came from working with experts in their field and producing systems that matched their perspectives. I don’t think this diminishes his accomplishments, bit rather emphasizes the importance of seeking out those experts and gaining an understanding of the subject matter you’re working with to produce better results.
I’ll take the money. It isn’t changing my vote, which wasn’t going to be for conservatives before this. I also doubt it will sway many votes in the Liberals’ favor, either. But I really wish they had a coherent plan to fight the populist rhetoric of the conservatives, because their current course isn’t likely to lead to victory. This is at least trying something, but it’s a feeble attempt. Let’s get a new leader, let’s get some engaging talking points, and let’s put together a plan to make authoritarian policies difficult to implement. Getting rid of first past the post is part of that, which the Liberals completely dropped the ball on, but as a number of countries in Europe demonstrate, it isn’t enough in itself.
So, people who lack critical thinking. Trudeau has concisely and accurately described the carbon tax. Poilievre has used lies and hyperbole about it. Rather than spending even a minute to compare the two stances, they choose to accept the statements of the guy who will “save” them from this “crippling” tax, for absolutely no benefit to himself. 🙄
And I get it. Taxes suck. Almost as much as poverty, lack of education, poor health, and a collapsing climate. But taxes are a great solution to fix those problems. And Poilievre, and conservatives in general, have put no effort in to fix any of those problems, but they are very fond of banging on the drum of high taxes and their desire to reduce those. So take a guess how that ends.
And I was assured that the Russian economy was doing great due to the increasing GDP and the sanctions weren’t affecting things.
Perhaps reality lies somewhere between what the blowhards and propagandists are saying. And perhaps all of us who oppose the concept of nations attacking other nations, militarily or otherwise, should recognize the threat Russia poses and support Ukraine with more than merely half hearted weapons transfers.
He says that, as a state, California can’t afford to do this. Your response is this makes no sense, this would all work if implemented at the federal level.
So even assuming your points are valid, this isn’t an option for California.
When I was younger I learned a lot of things the hard way. For a decade of my childhood I went to the emergency room at least once a year due to accidents.
