The assumption that everyone who is anti-woke wants a world of “white, straight, conservative Christian nationalists” is both simplistic and wrong. It reduces complex individuals with diverse reasons for opposing wokeness into a strawman caricature.

The irony is that the things that wokeness cancels and washes away are bigotry and intolerance that work against individualism and demand conformity.

I don’t understand how anyone thinks immigrants steal jobs. You can’t just show up to a workplace and collect a paycheque, you have to get hired first.
Employers are giving jobs to immigrants. And they know it because they are the ones getting the visas.
This feels like such a microcosm of the Republican party: everyone gets elected on a wide array of misinformation, conspiracy, and empty populist rhetoric, but then fight over leadership because no one person can unify the diverse party they cobbled together to win the popular vote.

Market cap isn’t liquidity. There’s only a few billion dollars of Bitcoin on offer at any given point so dumping another few billion into the market all at once would cause an enormous swing in price. The market may absorb it quickly enough for the price to recover, but it could also trigger panic selling which lowers the price further, which causes more panic selling… and voila there’s your run. It wouldn’t destroy Bitcoin, but the price could take a very long time to recover if it does at all.
Yup, and it only takes one whale trying to cash out too much to cause a run on the market.
Just the federal holiday would be enough. If someone is too lazy to vote when given a paid day off to do so, then I don’t trust they are informed enough to vote anyhow.

I like how the only “increases” in efficiency they have proposed are to completely eliminate programs instead of actually making any of them better. Maybe we should adopt this same methodology to “solve” the problem of billionaires. 🤷
