It’s believed that this remake is being built in Unreal Engine 5.
Whoa, no embryos involved? Not even “totally new” ones? Interesting. I’m now very curious how this reviews.
I’ve read that only the graphics are being done in UE5. The original Embryos is apparently still running in the background for everything else.
Oh man, that sounds like something they would do. That’s wild.
Joking aside, I know it’s a deep toolset that a large production team and community know. But it does seem to drag things down.
Maybe divorcing it from rendering and other systems will allow them to progressively move away from it, and build new systems on the Unreal side.
fake. hoax. and if not: stupid. UE brown-gray filter is the same color and consistency as the fecal matter of a dying elderly person, all fluffy and gray and sandy-like, like shitting saw dust, you know? if this is real, it’s embarrassing. they missed the whole aesthetic idea of the original game (Tolkien-esque, very colorful, but dark disturbing somewhat eldritch underbelly), which begs the question: what else did they miss?
Oblivion was the last time Bethesda got any of my money, and I’m not about to pay them again.
Stop wasting dev time on this shit. It’s been almost 7 years since they announced Elder Scrolls VI and we’ve seen nothing since.
Anyone who wanted to play oblivion has already picked it up. It’s still available to play right now. Fuck remasters
I’ll believe it, if and when it comes out next week like they claim.
I mean, it’s not hard to fake some screenshots. It wouldn’t even be hard to mock up a minute or so of “gameplay” footage using UE5 to do so.
It’s this about skyblivion or what? It doesn’t mention.
Skyblivion has been developing very publicly for years.
There seems to be a lot of confusion. It’s not Skyrim. It’s not Skyblivion. It’s not a port or a remaster.
It is a FULL REMAKE in a NEW engine.
New engine as in an updated creation engine or new engine as in they finally gave up on creation engine
I remember reading back in December/January that it’s going to be a mix of Unreal Engine 5 and the Gamebryo Engine from the original.
Mentioned in the first paragraph:
After years of rumors and speculation that Bethesda was working on a remake of the landmark role-playing game, the first screenshots of this brand new version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have been found as fans started digging around the developer’s website ahead of a reported release next week.
