Members of the Democratic Socialists of America are thinking seriously about a national presidential campaign for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in 2028 that would reach millions of working people and have the potential to transform American politics.
The thing is, there’s “national DSA” they’re the ones who didn’t endorse AOC and are apparently full of Maoists…
Then there’s a shit ton of “local” DSA’s, and the one in NYC kept endorsing her.
The national seems to want to latch onto to the popularity of anyone remotely socialist, and then if that politician doesn’t do everything the Maoists want, they try to co-opt their popularity and throw them under the bus.
Anyways, that’s how you end up with “the DSA” doing great things, and doing absolutely mindless shit like telling people AOC is conservative and people shouldn’t vote.
It’s not one solid organization. And large parts of it are run by idiots
