Chloe Freeman, a registered nurse at Trinity Health Ann Arbor, faces a federal misdemeanor charge after prosecutors say she removed an immigration detainee's IV and escorted him out of the hospital.

Chloe Renae Freeman has been charged with one count of instigating or assisting escape, a misdemeanor that carries up to one year in prison. She has pleaded not guilty. Her next court date is Oct. 20.

Freeman made her initial court appearance in Detroit on Tuesday and was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
