Democrats ‘united by a common purpose: putting a check on Trump’, Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say

Leading Democrats quickly papered over whatever qualms they had about progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed after his win in the Michigan Senate primary was confirmed on Wednesday, instead welcoming the former public health official as their champion against the Republican nominee, Mike Rogers.

The state is now key to Democrats’s hopes of retaking control of the chamber in November’s midterm elections. Winning in Michigan would put them on the path to snarling Donald Trump’s legislative agenda and blocking his judicial nominees for the final two years of his presidency, while defeat could undermine their prospects of gaining a majority in the chamber for years to come. Rogers lost a Senate race in Michigan two years ago by a slim margin to Democrat Elissa Slotkin.

Because we’ll be living in an authoritarian regime? Just say what you mean.

Americans have been living under authoritarian regimes for the country’s entire recorded history.

Plenty of instances where the government ran roughshod over people’s rights, including, you know, slavery; sometimes even Supreme Court decisions were just completely ignored. COINTELPRO targetted civil rights activitst, even killing a few. Leftists were explicitly denied government positions during the cold war. Etc. etc. etc.

You’re not making the DNC cooler, you’re just making progressives look worse

If he had any ounce of scruple Chuck Schumer would keep his mouth shut starting today until the day he dies.

Nah, Schumer sucks and needs to be removed from his job as quickly as possible, but so long as he’s still the Minority Leader in the Senate it would be weird and turn into a news story if he didn’t say something like this

Reminder that neither Schumer nor Gillibrand ever endorsed Mamdani. Both are beholden to Israel and Black Stone.

    Primary them ASAP.
