New York can’t ban federal agents from wearing face coverings or require that they wear visible identification, a federal judge ruled Monday.

The ruling comes after a federal judge earlier this year blocked a similar law in California that was enacted after the Trump administration aggressively worked to increase immigration arrests.

For the Northern District of New York, U.S. District Judge Mae D’Agostino wrote that while New York “appears to be well-intentioned in its pursuit of transparent policing,” that’s not what the court is deciding.

“The issue now before the Court is about constitutionality—not transparency or preferable policy decisions,” she wrote.

    I wonder if they realize that you can buy their uniforms online.

    Not like, look-a-like gear. Their actual gear.

    Point being: if I cannot reasonably ID a federal agent, I have no reason to believe they’re a federal agent.

    It follows then that lethal force to defend one’s self from being abducted by masked, armed men… is quite reasonable.

    Being identifiable is a safety precaution.

      This administration is begging you to think this way. This is intentional. They want a citizen to kill an ice agent in self defense. They’ll never call it self defense. They’ll call it martial law.

        I’m fully aware that Trump, whoever replaced that as bovino and the others want this, yes.

        And yes, the moment that happens it’s gonna be uglier.

        And yes. It’s still going to happen regardless of how I think or don’t think about it (which you clearly made a faulty assumption.)

        Because there’s also already assholes taking advantage, getting the gear and using it to get away with crimes. Things like rape.

        But the administration aren’t the boots on the ground. Hopefully one of them isn’t as stupid as they all seem. It never works out well for the bait.
