A required reading list before the State Board of Education would present a predominantly Christian perspective to public school students, Jewish leaders say.
“None” is only the largest category if you separate Catholics and Protestants. Some people on the internet might have strong opinions about that, but most silent majority Christians wouldn’t make that distinction.
Because the differences between Catholic or Protestant or Eastern Orthodox or non denominational Christians is miniscule when compared to the beliefs of an atheist. The broad category of Christians still hold a lot of similar beliefs to be true.
Well, they do have a tradition of murdering each other over those differences, so… ¯\(ツ)/¯
But yes, I realize that when it is politically expedient to violate the rights of others, what tends to happen in the United States is that suddenly all these xtian groups do get lumped together to help fluff up the numbers.
Well, until they aren’t - see the Defense Department excluding Mormons as being xtians, for example.
