  • You are not interpreting this correctly, and neither is TheHill / Independent / whatever.

Think about it step by step.

    1. Some time ago, America was hardcore opposed to the USSR and the Communist bloc. Americans like her grew up hearing comparisons with Communist dictators and how they did X, Y, and Z. The bogeyman many people grew up with was a communist dictator who hated free speech, co-opted the state and therefore personally controlled industry, cracked down on artistic expression…
    2. That’s what we’re dealing with now. Not from the perspective of a McCarthy Boogeyman; Kamala isn’t saying he’s a communist. But from the adult perspective where we’re supposed to care about free speech, a private industry, liberal art… Trump is the thing people grew up hearing about.

Tldr; Kamala didn’t say this. This never happened. Watch the interview and think about what she means. Journalism strikes again~

Edit: Here’s a simpler example: “We went years hearing from the right about demonic liberals abusing kids. Well Trump is that—that’s what we’re dealing with now.”

That isn’t saying Trump is a demonic liberal. It means “the thing everyone hated is here in a different form”

  • Basically all us do not shoot people we disagree with. 300,000,000 million citizens and a glut of weaponry, doesn’t he get what Charlie Kirk meant by this is the price we pay? You will never plug all the holes, and we massively increase the chance a gun slips through along with the killer, and this is what will happen for as long as our culture and laws stay the same.

Take all the people Charlie Kirk has debated. Consider the surface area. All the people who must have had guns. And yet essentially every single person didn’t kill him.

There were more people debating him peacefully that day than trying to assassinate him. He was having his ideas dismantled by simple logic, as always, and ignoring it, as always. He just happened to be shot that day. They act like life is a simulation that’s meant to bend the rules for them rather than subjecting them to the same roll of the die as everyone else.

  • Why wouldn’t people kill each other based on rhetoric like “Democrats are demonic and they’re trying to fuck your children and erase white people” or “there’s a huge child raping conspiracy involving tons of powerful people and now that I’ve said this you need to immediately forget about it you stupid fucking bitch”

Other people can argue about morality but I am obsessed with how things actually function. I’m obsessed with the “exploits” we allow.

ie murder is illegal. Telling others to commit murder is illegal. But it’s legal to use words and ideas to rig a Plinko game so that if someone was crazy enough to play, they’d drop their chip exactly where you wanted.

These deaths happened awhile ago, when people started upping the ante. Just takes awhile for the crop to grow.

  • It’s just absurd to consider that a volunteer would accept military life, military camps, hostile foreign countries, getting shot at by old men fighting for arbitrary ideals in a far away land… and they (pretend to?) agonize over morals…

This is just national guards but still. There’s a lot of people that are willing to kill people to protect our freedoms.

But there’s a conspicuous lack of soldiers fighting and dying for our freedoms when it’s clear as day. Whoops! There goes basically their only justification.

  • Yes. I would care. I’m a piece of shit conservative who lives and dies by optics. I’m trying to be president. The moment I’m seen as just a silly little couch fucker I will be ripped apart by the mob.

That’s why me and my fellow conservatives are so obviously unaffected. We think about how others will perceive us. We think about it and then we do a little dance so others know we’re above it all.

Even if I don’t care I can’t afford to let people think I do. Trump may be a successful child rapist but this is still a country full of people who will drop you for… seeming excited, or looking silly in a tank, or denying you are a crook.

(I imagined I was Vance. Normal people wouldn’t care. A maga vice president is not like your coworkers and neighbors though.)
