  • My google-fu hasn’t up to this point. In fact, I get lots of results saying that Americans are not welcome as asylum seekers in my googling. Your single link only shows places that take American immigrants, not places welcoming American refugees. In fact, New Zealand is suffering from a Conservative-inflicted recession that is making things difficult for immigrants and natives alike, and Australia has some serious restrictions on immigrants (a close friend of mine did that route and barely made the cut). And Canada? Despite a victory for the Liberal Party and ‘elbows up’ regarding American rhetoric, they still have lots of people angry about how immigration has been handled.

If you actually have links to help get victimised people out of the USA, maybe instead of ‘why don’t u google it urself’, maybe post those links. That’s FAR more helpful than the whole ‘go do it urself!’ response. :)

  • Indeed. I stand by my original comments saying that this is a huge distraction. partial_accumen is here to proclaim loudly to the world that I’m TALKING TOO MUCH ABOUT HOW TRUMP IS PULLING A FAST ONE, and meanwhile, what’s Trump doing? Nationalising the National Guard to implement martial law in blue cities that don’t appreciate his bullshit.

Like I said. The Musk bullshit was entertainment, designed to distract us from what’s really going on – the imposition of Project 2025. The eradication of our civil liberties. Sending the military against those of us that dare stand up to Hair Fuehrer. The establishment of a right-wing dictatorship. Thread after thread after thread is coverage of the Trump-Musk bullshit distraction event. And rather than make that the central part of his complaint, ol’ partial_accumen decides the better idea is to get me to shut up about the distractification going on here. Seriously, that’s the thing he’s worried about?

  • And that’s what they want you to think. They want you to underestimate them and focus on the public shitshow, while they quietly implement Project 2025 while you’re distracted by the slapfest they’re putting on for you in public.

As I said above. They’re a bunch of conniving bastards, and until I start seeing real things like Elon explaining exactly how Clark County in Nevada was stolen from the Left, or Trump actually cancel SpaceX contracts, or Musk abducted by ICE agents and sent to El Salvadore, I’m going to continue thinking this is all a WWE plot designed to distract us from the shitshow going on behind the scenes.

  • It’s much the same problem you guys had in the 1920s. Hate is easy. Cruelty is the norm. Humanity, like the chimpanzee we’re closest related to, is a very ‘in-group/out-group’ species. You’re either one of us, or you’re a threat to be beaten down and killed. Hate is easy to stoke, especially when things are tough. And don’t forget – Hitler studied hate-filled regimes world-wide before he put together his authoritarian empire, and one he studied hard was the US Southeast. Abuse of ‘inferior’ people was a way of life for them!

Standing up could get you killed in these not-so-United States, so a lot of us try to keep our heads down and be ‘Good Americans’…

  • I see these plans, and I see disturbing parallels to the fictional setting of Night City in Cyberpunk. For those not aware:

Night City was founded as an attempt to bypass the inefficiencies its founder perceived in centralised government in the United States of the Cyberpunk world. Free of governance by the central US authority, and indeed independent of the two Californias it sat on the borders of, it was a hellscape of corporate governance with rampant homelessness, a ruthless economy, brutal crime, a police force that unapologetically serves the rich and powerful, and corporate armies that regularly shake down subjects of this so-called ‘free city’.

Considering Grimes’ particularly important role in the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, and of course Musk’s appreciation for nerdy fiction, I think there’s a 0% chance that Musk is unaware of Night City. Thus, the similarities to his idea of a free city to the fictional Night City can’t possibly be coincidental – he WANTS to make a world where he can sit at the top of his ivory tower while his goons rough up people like you and me in the dirty streets below. I don’t want to live in that city, though.
