His music was songs of more than one generation of Canadians. I caught the last few songs of the live streamed final concert. I almost missed it because I was on graveyard shift and slept through an alarm.

I caught my favorite song “Ahead by a Century” and since he passed, I haven’t been able to listen to that song again. When it comes on the radio I either turn it off or leave the room. It is too sad to hear. It has been harder in the last two years because my sister died of the same brain cancer as him. She played music with a few Canadian bands but never met them.

For me specifically it is because I have dyscalculia. Which made all mathematics is school quite difficult. I could understand reasonably complex ideas and through my own methods could solve equations but I couldn’t show my work because it was all done it my head.

It took me until grade 10 or so to come up with a method to know the multiplication table but it still takes more than a moment to work a simple calculation out.

Oddly I can work out and calculate the weight of a trailer of freight within a few hundred pounds with very little information in order to balance it for shipping but 9 x 8 involves 10 x 8 = 80 - 8 = 72

I failed math multiple times until I was put into math B for the slow people. I did better than the teachers assistant on tests. Went back to regular math the next year thinking I could do it if I was so good at remedial class and failed within a few weeks and stopped going.

I don’t disagree. There were better songs on the Analog Worms Attack album but that is the song I remember the name of having not heard it in a decade or more.

Are subsonics the bass sounds that are so low that you can’t hear it but can feel it if the space is small enough?

I used to listen to some electronica that would move my cars subwoofers like crazy but you couldn’t hear an audible base.

I got to go to up to 7 ingredients and I’m counting the four mandatory veg as one ingredient (1 cup each of carrot, onion, celery and 1 tablespoon of diced garlic) that I call mirepoix.

African ground nut stew:

• 10 chicken thighs
• 4 cups of mirepoix
• Large can of diced tomatoes
• Can of tomato paste
• Cup of chicken stock
• 2 cups of mushrooms

-High pressure for 28 mins

Stir in 3 tablespoons of unsweetened peanut butter to thicken.

If you want to make it 8 ingredients then add hot sauce to taste.

I hold onto the memories of my sister both good and bad, I embrace the pain of her not being here anymore when they come, then I let the pain go because I keep ahold of the happiness she brought into people’s lives while she was here.

I’d like to see a list of the shortfalls the Israeli government has on their side of the ceasefire deal compared to Hamas and dates of the shortfalls to see who was breaking if first and more.
