  • In 2022 the Supreme Court decided in Merrill v Milligan that racially gerrymandered districts while recognized as being illegal, were allowed to be used anyways because of how close they were to an election.

When an election is close at hand, the rules of the road must be clear and settled. Late judicial tinkering with election laws can lead to disruption and to unanticipated and unfair consequences for candidates, political parties, and voters, among others.

    • Brett Kavanaugh

I wonder how consistent the court will be on preserving these districts.

  • “The evil I saw in that White House was staggering. In 2020, I finally said ‘enough,’”

Meanwhile millions of Americans were able to see the evil without having to be inside the White House. Even if she’s genuinely switching sides and changed her religious views or whatever she used to justify the Republicans repeated attacks on female body autonomy and LGBTQ+ equality and voter oppression and defending / prompting sexual abusers and spreading blatant lies about political opponents and diverting funds from social services to billionaires etc etc etc, she’s too oblivious to the suffering of the American people to be a public servant.

  • I’ve been seeing these type of headlines of Republican “fear” of losing elections due to the horrible shit they do when they are in power. The money behind Republicans don’t care. It’s built into the plan. Republicans just hunker down, switch to obstructionsm to limit undoing the damage they caused and wait for the voters to get fed up with the lack of change and blame the party in power (not the party that created the situation and is preventing it from changing). Then they find themselves back in power and continue burning the world and push for every more oppression.
