I bought one new as the planned 3090 and potential backup 3080 were far too expensive, worst card i owned.
The 8gb was enough for about 3 months, when i was still enamored with my backlog of older games.
I now switched teams and got a 24gb gpu. My first gpu was also team red and lasted 11 years until it was incapable of running the games i wanted to play. I hope my current gpu will also last longer.

I’ve always been an AMD cpu guy; my first pc had an AMD gpu and then i moved away to nvidia, but due to costs i now moved back to AMD and i got zero complaints.
That 3070 ended up costing me a sweet €1289, where a 3080 should have retailed for less than that. At the peak of that madness a 3080 went for €3500, hence why i settled for something along my original budget.
My old pc stopped being able to drag itself through games at 11 years old…poor thing served me well, i still have all the internals and the gpu has a special place on my tv cabinet. That bad boy cost significantly less than the €1289 i paid for the 3070 and outlasted it by a million miles.
I switched back to AMD with my current gpu seeing how the 50 series is just as insanely priced.
But i got no complaints because my pc looks absolutely mental and performs well, i got one of those lian li o11 xl rgb cases stuffed to the brim with rgb fans and a closed loop watercooled cpu + vertically mounted gpu…it’s an absolute centerpiece.
My friend pointed out it’s release yesterday as i was unaware.
The long wait time for ES6 and seeing how Starfield is just reskinned Skyrim has me completely given up on Bethesda.
Then i stumbled on a livestream yesterday after finding out Oblivion costs €55 and it looked like a reskinned clunky old bethesda mess…so no thanks.
Enjoy it if you like it, but i’m not interested at that price point.

I came here because there were people who would go: “hey man, you’re wrong here’s a link to more info” and i would read that and be more informed. Very mature and pleasant behaviour.

I have no idea what this means, but my friend semt me that he was a really good diablo player…so who knows he might bring some positive influence.
I just ditched my 8gb card because it wasn’t doing the trick well enough at 1080p and especially not at 1440p.
So if i get this straight AMD agrees that they need to optimize games better.
I hate upscaling and frame gen with a passion, it never feels right and often looks messy too.
First descendant became a 480p mess when there were a bunch of enemies even tho i have a 24gb card and pretty decent pc to accompany that.
I’m now back to heavily modded Skyrim and damn do i love the lack of upscaling and frame gen. The Oblivion stutters were a nightmare and made me ditch the game within 10 hours.
