There is probably an unspoken rule of geopolitics to the effect of “Don’t start assassinating foreign dignitaries and heads of state unless you want everyone else to declare open season on you and yours.” And it seems like we’re getting closer to breaking that rule by the month.

I remember reading somewhere that the Third Reich was pervasively cooking the books and scamming their own financial sector to support their war and genocide, basically from beginning to end.

To be clear, the Pentagon has dusty filing cabinets full of playbooks and wargaming scenarios ranging from plausible to outrageous that various think tanks have cooked up over the years. We’ve had plans to invade Canada and Mexico wholesale for decades at least. Their existence doesn’t inherently mean that anyone at the Pentagon takes the possibility of the scenario seriously. They’re thought exercises as much as they are preparation for the unlikely.

Trump is fundamentally deranged. By this time next year, he will be publicly floating the idea of nuking resistance strongholds.

Two possibilities:

1. They know some serious shit is liable to go down.
2. They know some serious shit is intended to go down.

ICE and their various fed retainers will still waltz into these neighborhoods without consequence. All it means is that they can’t count on local cooperation.

In practical terms, in any given situation where both are giving conflicting or even antagonistic orders, do you listen to the governor of your state or the President of the United States?

He refused to say in the debate that Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish state. That is probably enough for AIPAC to drop the knife on him.

Revenge for personal slights is one of the only things Trump has the attention span for. It would not surprise me if he maintains a dwarf-esque Book of Grudges.

I don’t think he will ever let this go, even if Heritage Foundation shitkickers try to smooth things over. With Tesla’s stock price and perhaps even solvency being carried on the back of the Trump administration for the past few months, Elon and his ventures are in deep shit.

Law enforcement spent millions of dollars and thousands of man-hours looking for Eric Frein in the sticks. They may ramp up the rhetoric, but practically, someone fighting back would have the consequence of straining an already logistically strained effort.

It’s a common thread of logic for them.

Their favored aggressors and abusers are essentially framed as dangerous wild animals who can’t be held responsible for their actions. They can’t help but react to their victims, whether its a cop magdumping an unarmed suspect or Russia rocketing a civilian district. And the victims should know better than to incite further reactions. Somehow it falls on the victim to deftly navigate the rage of their attackers.

The thought that it’s the aggressors who need to learn (or be taught) temperance does not enter their head.
