The closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which is closely aligned with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., yielded 34 votes for Connolly and 27 for Ocasio-Cortez, according to a member of the panel. The position opened up after the top Democrat on Oversight, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., challenged Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., for a similar post on the Judiciary Committee, prompting Nadler to bow out.
Yet more evidence I am not a Democrat. I wish I didn’t have to be in this party just to try to influence it in primaries.
I really do think they are just controlled opposition at this point. The sooner we realize that, and that electoral politics are not going to be our way out of this the better.
well after Pelosi torpedoed AOC there’s little surprise. That person is dead set against progressives tanking them at every opportunity. She is made of steel and were effective in some things that were net positive but she’s wielding too much power with Democrats and is virtually unchecked.
The Democratic party has too many geezers.
and too many do-nothing corrupt centrists.
Of course they pick a Gerry-atric white man… 😞
