The White House said on Sunday that it supports Israel’s decision to delay releasing 600 Palestinian prisoners who were set to be freed after Hamas released six Israeli captives in exchange on Saturday.

President Donald Trump is prepared to support Israel in “whatever course of action it chooses regarding Hamas,” a statement from National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday said the prisoner release would be delayed until Hamas ends its ceremonies while freeing Israeli captives.

Hamas has called the delay a “blatant violation” of the truce and said Netanyahu is engaging in “procrastination and stalling tactics” to undermine the agreement.

At least we didn’t vote for genocide! We just let it in along with the fascism.

I know this is an incredibly unpopular decision and with good reason, because these are humans. But we should really just let them sort this shit out by themselves. If the desert ends up glassed then so be it.

Easy to say when it’s not your children or family stuck in their open air prison. We should be more empathetic than the right. They’re the party of "Let’s find out today how many degrees of separation from numero uno I’m willing to stand up for today (hint, the record is 1).

I know, that’s why I know it’s not a popular opinion and one I hold with great conflict. The thing for me is that both are somewhat justified in their aggressions so I f we can’t broker peace between them, then we shouldn’t be financing the violence either. So the best move is to let them sort it out by themselves.

“Somewhat justified” in the context of Israel and Palestine is not really that different than the much more at home faux pas of “both sideism” while the mainstream push is to make people throw up their hands and say “It’s complicated but Israel has the right to exist” it’s so lopsided as to be prison guards vs prisoners who haven’t been given their basic human rights since their arrest 77 years ago. One need not look any further than the average age of each population to see the horror of one side vs the other.

We should in fact do that. The reason Israel exists is because of our weapons and money. As soon as we leave it alone, Israel will disappear in a year.
