The same willingness to believe and help on the part of the kid in the game chat is what got the girl kidnapped.

Parents think, “Oh, she’s fifteen, she’s been online for years now, she knows not to trust strangers.”

People generally, and especially good kids, want to help and there are a few people who learn how to take advantage of this. I do mean a few, we hear about this in news reports because news reports don’t report on the mundane things. We pass these reports around because they’re outrageous, and salacious. There are 8 billion of us on this planet, and the wide, vast majority have never been kidnapped.

It’s important to keep this in mind because, stoking fear is how people are lured to the dark side. And, our news media, run by billionaires, plays an active role in that.

More recently, Harmel gave the victim a new phone without cellular data. However, the teenager was able to connect to Wi-Fi via the phone and used it to access the online game Among Us. The victim then seemingly used Among Us’ in-game chat function to contact another teenager in a lobby. The two exchanged social media details

Please, teach your kids how to email the cops.

Fuck the police, need other organization to contact. The police won’t help, more likely to help kidnappers or shoot the victim.

So the kidnapping happened in Utah, they were found in Oregon, but the kidnapper is being tried in Idaho? Where does Idaho fit into the crime?
