Senate Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign says it has raised $1.2 million in the four hours and counting after former primary rival Rep. Haley Stevens backed Republican Mike Rogers in the final messy days of the Michigan Senate race.

That marks his second-best fundraising day since winning the nomination in August.

It’s a sign of Democratic donors’ frustration following Stevens’ shock decision to withdraw her endorsement of El-Sayed and back Rogers, which drew strong condemnation from across the Democratic Party.

Huh…maybe this was a galaxy-brain 5D chess move by Stevens, where she completely sacrifices her credibility and soul to help the good doctor out. If she did what she did with the intention to actually help him, that’d be cool. Unfortunately, that’s almost certainly not the case. She’s just paid off and dumb.

I was going to say if I was Rogers I wouldn’t have shared a stage with her. Getting an endorsement from a sore loser is not the flex they think it is.

Ironically enough this probably helped 10x what her standing on stage and waving would have.

Progressives hurt their chances rubbing shoulders with neoliberals, but everytime a neoliberal tries to take their voters to the Republican party, it just ends up increasing Dem turnout.

Neoliberals just honestly don’t understand Dem voters fucking hate them.

Tale as old as time. Democrats have been trying to turn their voters into Republicans since 1994. And it’s never worked. Democrats don’t vote for Republicans. You want to be on this team and get its votes you have to appeal to these voters, not some other teams voters.
