The Republican Party of Florida is suing the state Democratic Party, candidate for governor David Jolly and other politicians to stop a television ad that mentions a grand jury’s findings about Hope Florida.
The court filing out of Highlands County accuses television stations of breaking the law by airing Democratic candidates’ ad focusing on the jury’s report, which was leaked to CBS Miami and published in August. An appeals court on Oct. 7 ordered the report expunged, saying it was irresponsibly distributed by State Attorney Jack Campbell’s office and the jury’s findings were incorrect.

So, they can sue to stop an ad from airing, but they don’t care enough to sue the person that stole $10 million dollars from a charity?
This is where republicans are at? They don’t care that massive corruption happened, they just care if you hear about it during an election year.

- The money is then diverted to the DeSantis administration
- The money is spent on anti-weed advertising (which may have just gone to the “ad agencies”)

Oh, okay, if they “don’t remember”, then I guess we can’t charge anyone with stealing $10 million dollars, then. Oh, well.
Grand jury finds DeSantis administration “misappropriated” $10 million in taxpayer money to Hope Florida
The grand jury report said the money, which was supposed to be used to provide health insurance for poor children, was instead hastily passed through multiple organizations before eventually landing in the bank accounts of two political action committees and the Republican Party of Florida. Those funds were then used in 2024 to defeat Amendment 3, the citizen initiative to legalize marijuana in Florida.
“Despite our finding that the money was misappropriated, we find insufficient evidence to charge anyone criminally,” the report concluded. “Nobody will take responsibility for deciding the $10 million of taxpayer money would go to Hope Florida… or had any memory of who made it.”
It’s Medicaid fraud to boot. DeSantis has to be in on it , he should be in jail over this.
