Republicans are motivated by fear, and lack the empathy to realize other people think differently.
It’s why with 5 minutes of training you can determine political party affiliation with like 80% accuracy in a count that has lower that 80% voter turnout.
It’s not a permanent difference, even well into your 60s it can change.
But that’s why Trump thinks this would gain votes in Cali, they assume if Dems are afraid they’ll vote R. Which did kind of happen after 9/11. But a hypothetical isn’t going to be the same.
