    From the EO:

[the executive branch] will not acknowledge the usage of “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” in any applicable setting.

I can imagine vendors giving a sales pitch, or having a deep discussion about AI, and everyone at the table pretending not to hear them because they didn’t say “SI”

    Did you hear something Jackson?

Sure, in sales pitches. Sales people will do just about anything and everything to close, though.

I’m talking about normal people taking / teaching courses, working on/with things like GA, LLMs, neural nets, expert systems, etc.

No one but complete blithering idiots and supplicants are going to call it that. People in the field have been talking about AGI, ASI, etc…for decades. If some of them were to start calling the products from companies with LLMs “superintelligence” it would just introduce a lot of noise that no serious person would tolerate, and I’m sure the people working on things like this don’t really have the time, patience, or inclination to be taking direction on what they chose to specialize in from one of the stupidest people on the planet.

It would also make trying to understand why this book was called “Superintelligence” rather hard to understand:
