“Florida Congressman Randy Fine was going door to door looking for votes … and somehow ended up rifling through a voter’s mail,” TMZ reported Tuesday.
In a video that has since gone viral, a man who TMZ identified as Fine can be seen ringing the homeowner’s doorbell before stepping toward a mailbox mounted on the porch wall. The man identified as Fine stands mostly still for about 15 seconds before opening the mailbox and rifling through envelopes.
While TMZ definitively declared that Fine’s conduct did not run afoul of federal law that prohibits tampering with another person’s mail, other critics weren’t so sure.
Susan Acevedo, for instance, a Californian political strategist and candidate for San Jacinto City Council, argued that merely touching someone else’s mail could constitute a crime, and urged her more than 38,000 followers on X to contact law enforcement about the incident.

I suggest a template headline: “[name] ® [state] commits [crime]”. Easier to compile the list with a pattern search when the trials commence.
