As someone who tries to be progressive, my enjoyment of things is hampered by knowing more about how they affect things.

Like, I love cars and driving fast but those are very bad things and I should feel bad for liking them because I’m killing the planet.

So everything I like I feel guilty for liking. But if I didn’t feel guilty about liking things I’d feel guilty for not caring enough to feel guilty.

So I can get why an ideology where you don’t have to feel guilty is so attractive.
