Troy Jackson, who is expected to become the Democratic nominee for Senate in Maine, said he would not support Senator Chuck Schumer of New York to continue as the party’s leader in the chamber. Mr. Jackson also said that he was not sure he would want Mr. Schumer’s help in the general election.
Mr. Jackson made his most definitive rejection of Mr. Schumer to date in an interview on Monday with The New York Times.
“The Democratic Party needs to have a different approach — getting people back in the party, getting working-class, everyday people back in the party — and I don’t believe it’s going to happen with Senator Schumer,” he said.

Isn’t even that DSA wants to do? You need to unite the working-class, which means also reaching out to those people and bringing them back into the party. Whether or not that means appealing to their ignorance, or reframing the problem is ambiguous, but I think pointing the finger at Schumer (as opposed to say, Mamdani) is a good sign.
Honestly if it’s done through actually helping people it’s fine, the thing is though that the end goal should be to bring in disaffected folks who aren’t directly aligned with either party and shore up existing voters. Going for Republicans is broadly a lost cause unless steps are taken to shit can their propaganda networks so ideological drift can cause regional base splitting.
For whatever fucking reason, Maine seems to love conservatism (case-in-point, Collins reelected since forever).
