For fuck’s sake, don’t talk about it. Don’t posture, don’t chest-beat, and don’t blather about it in public. Don’t give the fucker any warning. Just do it when he shows up.

No,you don’t get it. The mere fact that he is talking about it now is a good indication that he’s already done all the analysis, and knows he can’t take any action. So, by coming out and saying he’s “examining” it, he continues to keep the issue in the news and gain popularity on it in spite of knowing the law is not on his side.

He has made the political determination, though, that even New York City, which by some estimations has over 1M Jewish people living in it, is fed up with Netanyahu. Which is pretty remarkable.

All he had to do was talk about it and Trump took the bait.

It’s free press and great PR.

Not responding at all would make people accuse him of being a Zionist. Saying “no, we won’t be doing that, are you fucking stupid?” is correct, but would also make people accuse him of being a Zionist. So instead of acting, which he can’t do, he’s “examining” the possibility and “weighing his options”; those options being jack shit.

Only children or the incredibly stupid think there is any reality where this could happen.

In a city of billionaires, Mamdani is not owned, which is why they’re all so scared of him: the powers that be can’t control him, and they can’t even predict him.

Which is exactly what makes this so based. Mamdani IS the mayor of NYC. He could make Bibi’s arrival in his city a little slice of hell in all manner of ways, many of which would break no law at all, and many New Yorkers would be thrilled to do their part.

But will he? No one knows. And that’s the beauty of it. We all know he’s thinking about it now.

So whether this pans out in reality or not, it’s always good policy to make a motherfucker watch his own back. Mamdani just turned Bibi into a motherfucker with a back that needs watching in NYC.

I appreciate when my leaders use their power to arrest war-criminals. It makes the world a safer place

Yeah why does USA not want international law? The U.S. has never ratified the ICC because why would they give up the freedom to do what they want… USA does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC. The 2002 American Service-Members’ Protection Act (ASPA) literally states that the U.S. will attempt to protect U.S. military personnel and other citizens from ICC persecution, even with military action if necessary. That bill was nicknamed “The Hague Invasion Act” because in theory it authorizes the president to use force to free Americans from ICC prison. They even go as far as using big tech to blackmail members of the ICC that investigate war crimes of the US military (or Israel). crazy.

Neither USA nor Israel is among the 125 signatories of the Rome Statute, which established the ICC in 1998. However, the treaty sets out that nationals of non-member states can be tried for crimes that take place on the territory of states that are signatories. But if mamdami arrests netanyahu and delivers him to The Hague that would be a dream for everyone who wants global peace and justice, probably followed by sanctions from crybaby trump tho lmao

Best not to make such decision public. See whether Netanyahu is willing to gamble.

But if he only leaves it “undecided” then Netanyahu will probably chicken out while Mamdani won’t be providing ammo for the (US funded) Zionist Israel lobby.

Oh, come on! Don’t say it out loud! Just prepare quietly. Subrepciously redirect him to a Jet charted to go straight to the Hague. And I don’t mean the nearest airport. I mean landing right by the freaking door of the International Court.

It may be he’s just bluffing to keep Netenyahu out of the city.

It’s not a good look for Mamdani to let him in the city while doing nothing about it (or even being forced to provide security for him), but actually arresting him might cause a small civil war.

Netenyahu might not be able to be detained as a head of state, but his consular staff can probably be arrested and detained for questioning. The Us did sign the geneva conventions and are legally bound to act on those. Even just cuffing them and marching them to a car would be great to see. And either way, Mamdani and his state police should be shadowing the war criminals everywhere he goes so that if any new yokrer is threatened or abused, he can step in and literally kick some ass.
Israeli diplomats have a history of roughing up protestors whose messages they dont like. Any of that should be met with immediate overwhelming force by the state of New York to protect the citizens of new york in their right to peaceful protest in the US. No halfassed apologies later, we need interverntion as it happens. If some diplomats get roughed up, well-- we can send an apology for that later. Israel just detained and pointed guns at Ro Khanna the other day. they deserve the same treatment. Guns aimed at their heads.
