House Speaker Mike Johnson told a hotel conference roomful of Christian conservatives that he was the only thing stopping Democrats from investigating not just President Donald Trump, but all of his allies and family members — and many of them, too.

Johnson spoke on Friday to the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s annual summit, a gathering of religious conservatives, where Trump also spoke later in the day. Most polling shows Democrats have a good chance of winning back the House of Representatives, but Johnson warned of the consequences for such a Republican defeat.

He warned that while Trump will not be on the ballot again, his future might be, along with their own.

Apart from the obvious implication they are engaged in crime, even the term “protection” is just comedically accurate on-the-nose mafia terminology for what is happening - a subtle threat of punishment to “supporters” unless they comply.

Once again, it’s hard to think of a better insult than what they openly admit to. It’s another confirmation they are psychopaths, because if they were at all capable of shame, they’d feel nothing else.

Well, I guess the silver lining is that it’s so damn easy to hate these ghouls. Like, they don’t even try to have a shred of anything remotely resembling likability to confuse my rationale or emotional impulses.

Stephen Colbert really took a turn after he got fired from his show the first time on comedy central and changed his name and became a louisiana congressman. What a dick.
