Somewhere around 9/11 and Iraq I had to learn that the military is a necessity, and they can also be abused. I suppose my grand dad learned that when he was drafted for the big one, and we talked about it - in our way, after 9/11 when it all seemed to go sideways.
It’s a shame we send our volunteers on missions like this. It’s a shame we have to draft people to protect ourselves. It’s a shame we lay shame on our service members when they are misused and abused by our politicians.
I thought like you once.
I agree this war, and many, are unjust.

The military is a tool. Soldiers are people.
I hope you can learn that too, some day.
Every single war America has fought in since WWII has been illegal and unjustifiable. The fuck are you smoking?
LOL
Soldiers that were legally and morally obligated to refuse the orders to strike the water supply.
You would have argued the guards at the concentration camps shouldn’t have been prosecuted.
“Just following orders” is not a legal defense against accusations of committing war crimes.
Like how they had to spend trillions and countless lives only to solve ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING!!!?
Not only did they solve nothing, they created thousands of new problems lol.
