I’m skeptical that China would retaliate. They laid an entire U.S. electricity grid of renewables last year. I feel like they would just let oil prices go to the moon, double down on renewable energy and watch as every other world power comes to them begging for solar panels and cheap electric vehicles.
They could easily sanction the US and further withhold goods and materials. They would win a war without firing a shot.
