Longterm thats a great goal. But the war in Ukraine is happening as we speak, and the inly thing stopping Putin from spreading the war to the rest of Europe is his fear of NATO.
Russia has zero interest in conquering Europe, this is just the excuse NATO gives to justify increasing the budget and thus profits for millitary contractors and private industry.

No, NATO is thoroughly dependent on the US, it’s essentially a means for US imperial power projection. The EU is thoroughly defanged.
