There’s a lot of bitter sentiment toward Talarico among Black voters in Texas who don’t think their interests can be represented by anyone but Crockett. Lots of “he hasn’t done anything to deserve my vote” kind of talk, if that sounds familiar.

The primary result shows that he is hitting the mark with everyone from progressives to religious moderates, but he’s got an uphill battle with Black voters and he’ll probably be spending a lot of time on messages like the one in the article for the rest of the year. I would hope that Crockett gets on board with endorsements and campaigning for him, but I think you may be right that she didn’t have that in her.

And that is legitimately the result of Republican propaganda…

They haven’t been shy about it, it’s open information now.

That’s why I’m saying what a good Dem politician would do (even for purely selfish reasons) would be to campaign for Talarico.

But I don’t think she will, I think best case she never mentions the Senate race again. But I could see her doing some truly stupid shit too. I legitimately don’t understand why people like her.

For most people just knowing how she got her current seat would be enough for them to want her primaried…

On November 20, 2021, incumbent representative Eddie Bernice Johnson of Texas’s 30th congressional district announced she would not seek reelection in 2022.[21] Four days later, Crockett declared her candidacy for the seat. Johnson simultaneously announced that she was backing Crockett.[22][23] Crockett also received extensive financial support from Super PACs aligned with the cryptocurrency industry, with Sam Bankman-Fried’s Protect Our Future PAC giving $1 million in support of her campaign.

If she ever be ame a Senator, shed likely pull a Sinema. The only excuse is she’s easily manipulated and just keeps getting played. Which itself is a reason to stop fucking electing her.
