    The Monroe Doctrine was a 19th and 20th century through-line where America intervened militarily in Mexico and South America.

    The biggest difference between then and now is that the Monroe Doctrine was supposed be the US ‘protecting’ this hemisphere from European Colonialism, and Trump hasn’t bothered to lie about his motivation.

    This was, is, and always will be an American colonial project.
